So, one of today's customers called asking if if we could change a lock ASAP as they were able to access their house, but they had lost their keys to their back door. No problem !.
When I get there, I am met with the photo opposite !. The customer had previously called a locksmith using one of the sponsored ads on google which stated that the cost to change the lock would be £39.00. This “locksmith” apparently turned up in his car with a drill in one hand, and his lunch in the other, and then set about drilling out the lock.
The customer told me that after 45 minutes the “locksmith” had drilled the lock three times on both sides of the door, couldn’t get the door to unlock and did not know any other way of opening the door. Now whilst drilling a lock is always an option if you know what your doing - what this “locksmith” has done in the photo opposite, is why customers must always do their due diligence first.
